However, Peter misses the baptism, because he got his hands on the file of his father Daniel, from which he learns that his father was led as an agent of the ŠtB. When Peter finally arrives home, he immediately confronts Daniel's father with his discovery. Daniel's heart can't handle it and he has a heart attack. His life is saved by the quick intervention of a family friend and the rest of the family. Daniel is taken to the hospital. After Peter reveals the reason for his father's collapse, more and more Varchal secrets begin to emerge, and the argument about the father and his motives gather momentum. As they leaf through the file together, the family is shaken to its foundations with each subsequent page.
80-year-old Ali Ungar comes across a book by a former SS officer describing his wartime activities in Slovakia. He realises his parents were executed by him. He sets out to take revenge but finds instead his 70-year-old son, Georg, a retired teacher. Georg, who had avoided his father all his life, decides to find out more about him and offers Ali to be his interpreter.

Linda and Vanda, two good-looking women in their thirties, are inseparable friends and co-owners of a small bookstore in the city center. Linda is divorced, educated and practical, has a little daughter and a sense of responsibility. Vanda, on the contrary, is single and free, attracting men as a magnet, but none of them is able to keep up with her spontaneity. Edo, shy, sensitive, and introverted gay working with them in the bookstore, longs for love for ages too. The lives of this trio get finally tangled by several men, while everything turns up differently than any of them had expected.
