POU is a South African gothic horror following the journey of a young woman into the dark recesses of the Afrikaner psyche and its compromised past.

Deborah's niece, Anna, lives with them in the house, and Patience is the insistence of their son, Seuna appointed as their nurse.
Saul Barnard grew up in a family of woodcutters. The woodcutters are scared of the elephants in the forest, but there's one elephant that never seems to threaten Saul. Tired of being exploited by wood buyers, Saul takes a stand and his father chases him away. He goes to work on the wood buyer MacDonald's wood yard, where he gets to know MacDonald's daughter, Kate, and falls in love with her. After a few years he leaves MacDonald and joins the first prospectors in the forest, searching for gold. Millwood becomes a small town with hotels and bars and houses. Kate appears again.
Johan Botha is a South African actor. Botha's portrayal of the father in David Eldridge's Festén (translated by Hennie van Greunen; directed by Heinrich Reisenhofer) is widely regarded as his masterpiece. He is married to actress Lida Botha. The couple appeared in numerous TV and film productions and were known at all the Afrikaans art festivals for their Grandfather and Grandmother stories.
