People live in a world of cities; reflecting on ancient models of the city as a human phenomenon offers important lessons about today's culture; an opportunity to survey the breadth of the ancient world through the context of its urban development.
Steven L. Tuck is a professor of classics, who is currently head of classics at Miami University. He teaches many classics courses at Miami University, especially those relating to the arts. He received his Ph.D. in Classical Art and Archaeology from the University of Michigan in 1997, and he is the author of the textbook “A History of Roman Art”.
